Wings for Life World Run Croatia

Zadar May 8, 2016

The Croatian Wings for Life World Run returns to the beautiful, picturesque city of Zadar. The track starts next to the Roman Forum, and St Donatus' Church, the city's popular landmarks, then continues through the city center, heading toward the Adriatic highway, passing by the famous city walls which allowed the town to retain its independence.

From the starting point in Zadar to a lovely small city of Primosten, where the last runners are supposed to end their race, the track passes through Bibinje, Sukošan, St. Filip and Jakov, Biograd, Pakoštane, Drage, Pirovac, Vodice, Šibenik, Brodarica and Žaborić among other smaller places.

The average temperature on the Croatian coastline at that time of year is a nice 19 °C, and the race starts at 1:00 p.m. local time.

Frequently Asked Questions

It’s a fun 5k race, a 10k race, it’s a marathon race, it’s whatever distance race you want it to be. It is your race. On May 8, 2016, at exactly 11am UTC, the Wings for Life World Run will simultaneously start the world over. Then, 30 minutes later, the Catcher Cars will set off, chasing runners until the last female and male running are caught. 100% of all the registration fees go straight to Wings for Life-funded spinal cord injury research projects.

Everyone! Anyone! No experience needed! However, you must be 16 years old to race. Join the thousands of other runners and wheelchair participants on the starting line and share in this global running race.

At 11.30am UTC, thirty minutes after the start, a Catcher Car sets off at each location. As long as you stay in front of the car, you stay in the race. When the Catcher Car passes you, your race is over.  Men and women, young and old, everyone is out there, running for those who can’t, having fun, racing family and friends, near and far for one great cause: the Wings for Life foundation.

Because each location is as unique as the race itself, each has its own way of getting participants back to the start area, but rest assured your path back to the celebrations will be clear, easy and probably a lot of fun!
