Young and bright BMX rider and Red Bull athlete Arif Gül is present in İzmir right now and he is pretty much excited about attending Wings for Life World Run. This year will be his first and Arif feels he can go all the way! We talked to him in İzmir, here’s how it goes:
You’re here in İzmir for Wings for Life World Run, how do you feel about that?
It’s a global race and we’ll all run to raise funds for the spinal cord researches, which is very very important. We’ll run with that in mind, with that responsibility.
Did you set yourself a goal?
I’ll run until the Catcher Car catches me, that’s my goal. I don’t have limits. Since I am training as a BMX rider, I am in a good form and feel ready for the run.
You know that there’s no finish line at this race and this is your first year, so how do you feel about that?
That’s a great idea, and that’s what makes this race so original. And as you said, this will be my first experience so I am really excited.
So what’s next for you, what are your plans for the rest of 2016?
I’ll attend BMX World on July 2 - 3, that was one of my biggest dreams. I’m hoping to do good there and that will be the highlight of the year for me.
