In 2012, Enes Günel had an accident while snowboarding and he has spinal cord injury since then, but that didn't keep him away from sports. On the contrary, he'll represent Turkey at the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics. Enes Günel will also join Wings for Life World Run on May 8 in İzmir and he's very excited about it. Watch the video below to hear this inspiring story, from Enes Günel himself.
Before the accident, Günel was an active athlete; he took place at many sports teams from swimming to basketball and volleyball. Now he's into "handcycle" and he's pretty good at it. He's a licensed athlete at the Spinal Cord Paralytics Association of Turkey (TOFD).
"With proper adjustments and accessibility, people who have spinal cord injury can go to work, go to collage again and can do sports, art... Everything's possible as long as they want. They should never ever give up."
