Motivating yourself to get up and work out needs the right mindset. I keep telling people that ask me for advice about a few easy steps to start with:
1. Set a Goal
It all starts with a vision of what you want to achieve. If you want to be part of the Wings for Life World Run, set your goal now by registering. Don’t do it tomorrow, next week or next month. Do it now!
2. Get ready
Good running gear is important, but don’t focus too much on equipment and nutrition. You’re not trying to win a world championship. The only criteria is really that you should comfortable in whatever you’re wearing.
3. Track progress
Tracking your progress is almost as motivating as setting a goal. Set little goals. Run for 10, 15, 20 minutes first and take breaks. Our soon-to-be-released new version of the Wings for Life World Run app will help you track your progress.
4. Have fun
Life is serious enough. Don’t let yourself be distracted by wanting too much too soon.
