Important: There are two (2) Catcher Cars starting at 7:30 a.m. Due to the global nature of the event all the tracking/timing is synced, the Catcher Cars must be able to pass participant WITHOUT slowing down. It is extremely important for runners and walker to be aware of their surroundings and run on the RIGHT side of the course/lane. There will be bicyclists, police, and volunteers alerting you to the Catcher Cars presence. When the Catcher Car approaches, please move to the RIGHT, so there is enough space for the car to pass you safely. Do not step off course or outside the marked perimeter, the course is designed to accommodate the Catcher Car and runners. Participants not moving over will risk disqualification. Please be alert and listen to instruction. Please do not wear headphones.
Once the Catcher Car passes you on the course a shuttle bus will arrive and transport all participants back to the reunion area at the BB&T Center. Water and Red bull will be available on the shuttle. If you are “caught” and don’t see a shuttle bus, continue forward to the next hydration station where a shuttle will pick you up. Do not continue past the next closest hydration station.
Upon returning to the BB&T Center, you will be presented with a race medal by an individual directly benefiting from your participation in the Wings for Life World Run!
When you return with the shuttle bus, join us for a Recovery Celebration hosted by Red Bull! Grab a snack from one of the food trucks and cheer on the remaining participants around the globe LIVE on the jumbotron in the parking lot at the BB&T Center. A photographer will be capturing photos of runners following the race along, and display booths from our partners will be set up in the reunion area.
