With entries from all over Brazil and the world, Wings For Life World Run mixes different cultures, accents and countries of origin. In 2016, more than 130 thousand people, from 193 nationalities, competed in the race. The winner was the Italian Giorgio Calcaterra, walking 88.44km and still securing the record of the event. In Brazil, the best were the British Thomas Payn (56.52 km) in the men's category, and Leticia Saltori (51.09 km), among women. Both were among the top 150 contenders in the world.
