On May 5th only a few metres are in between Zug and Rio de Janeiro. One of the many things, the Wings for Life World Run makes possible. While in Brasil Dominika Stelmach (Pol) gets caught by the Catcher car, Nina Zarina from Russia speeds up in Zug for one more time and makes a few more metres, that decide the race. In the end it takes 53.5km to win the global female title.
This year`s winner of the national men`s competition is from Italy. Francesco Mascherpa fights snow and rain and in the end reaches incredible 57.6km. With this he makes one of the top places in the global competition, too.
In the global competition two men fight head to head for the last kilometres. In Munich David Schönherr makes 62.6km. However this is only enough for second place. Meanwhile in Izmir in Turkey Ivan Motorin is running for victory. His distance in the end will be incredible 64.37km - which brings him the title in the men`s global competition.
