Run through the roads of Greater Poland
WINGS FOR LIFE WORLD RUN
MAY 6, 2018, POZNAŃ
INFORMATION FROM THE ORGANIZER
We are extremely pleased that you are taking part in our run and supporting the initiative of the Wings for Life foundation. In order to make sure that everything goes smoothly and safely, we would like you to read the following information.
The Wings for Life World Run Venue is located at the Poznań International Fair (Międzynarodowe Targi Poznańskie - MTP). To reach the Race Office and the start line, we recommend using public transportation – the event takes place right next to the main railway station - Poznań Główny. The Wings for Life World Run Venue can be accessed by car or by foot via Roosevelta Street, through the east MTP gate (glass building).
Every underage (born after 6th of May 2000) participant registered for the run, has to bring to the race office filled in disclaimer signed by parents or legal guardians, to receive starting-kit and starting number.
The Organizer does not ensure car access and/or parking spots within the event venue. Only disabled people will be allowed to access the Wings for Life World Run Village by car via the main MTP gate on Śniadeckich Street.
The closest public (paid) parking lot is located on Matejki Street. The walk from the parking lot to the event venue takes approx. 10 minutes.

RACE OFFICE / CHANGING ROOMS / DEPOSITS / SHOWERS
The Race Office, changing rooms and deposits are located in the building by the start line – MTP Hall 3
The run will begin at MTP‘s central square (Saint Marek’s Square). Each participant is obligated to take the right starting position according to the info received while picking up their Race Numbers.
Refreshment stations will be located along the course at approximately every 5 km.
Participants will be offered: water, bananas, chocolate, Red Bull Energy Drink.
There will be toilets nearby the stations.
The Wings for Life World Run has no classic finish line. 30 minutes after the start, the Catcher Car begins its chase. Once the participants are passed by the Catcher Car, they are out of the race and should proceed to the closest bus provided by the organiser, which will take them back to MTP, to the Wings for Life World Run Venue.
We do our best to ensure the safety of all participants during the event. There will be ambulances with doctors along the course, at approximately every 2.5 km. Moreover, one of them will be following the Catcher Car. Paramedics will also be present in the buses that will take the participants back to MTP.
If you see that someone is in trouble, call 112 and: “provide your full name, make sure to inform about the fact that you are a Wings for Life World Run participant and specify the kilometre where paramedics’ help is needed”. The information will immediately be sent to the medical coordinator of the run and we will be able to quickly take care of the potentially dangerous situation.
Similar problems can also be reported directly to the personnel present along the course (police, street wardens, security, volunteers, paramedics).
Do not hesitate to call! Your reaction might get someone out of serious trouble.
RETURN TO MTP
Participants will return to MTP (to the Wings for Life World Run Village) by dedicated buses marked with the event logo – the bus stops are located near the refreshment stations but also along the course. Additionally, there’s always one bus driving behind the Catcher Car, and the participants can also use that one to go back to the start. All buses are adjusted to the needs of wheelchair participants.
After returning to MTP, we encourage all participants to go the start gate where they can collect their medals and then to Saint Marek’s Square to get their recovery meal.
