The Swiss actor Hansjörg Bahl once said: "New Year resolutions are starting signals for races that will never happen." Well, forget that! The Wings for Life World Run will happen. Definitely. On May 8, 2016. No matter what condition the participants from Moscow to Munich, Dubai to Dublin are in.
1. Motivational videos
To all those visual types amongst us, these little multimedia helpers are worth gold: short, concise and full of pathos, they make us go out and do what we’re supposed to do. Small hint: Use that audio-visual momentum wisely!
2. Define goals
It’s more important to define feasible goals than to make ultra-good resolutions. The more specific your goals, the more likely you will turn them into habits. The Wings for Life World Run's Goal Calculator will help you set your personal running goals.
3. Buddy up!
Get yourself a training partner who shares your goals. That way you’re in it together, and if you're in the same boat, you both have to keep rowing, right?
4. Less is more
True to the Wings for Life foundation’s motto, many little steps lead to success. That’s what you should do too: start your training routine slowly with one training session per week instead of three. That way you have a greater chances of sticking to your new routine. Just keep in mind: start easy, finish strong.
5. No excuses
Lessing’s Nathan the Wise knew: "Whoever considers is looking for ways not to must." A bit abstract? Here’s the down-to-earth version, courtesy of Norway: "There is no bad weather, just the wrong clothes."
Still looking for a good reason to turn your New Years resolution into deeds in 2016? Then register now for the Wings for Life World Run on May 8, 2016.
