It's been less than a year since the accident that left Kim Ocampo paralyzed from the waist down happened. She's still facing new challenges every day, confronting them head-on and putting in hard work until she triumphs over them.
"I've actually made a promise to myself, since I was in the hospital, to overcome a minimum of one fear or challenge each day," she says in this interview. "I've actually gotten to the point where I'm challenging on purpose because I enjoy overcoming my fears — it's a fulfilling, empowering feeling."
She now has her sights set on the Wings for Life World Run in Sunrise, Florida, helping to spread awareness for spinal cord injury as an official event ambassador. Can you match Kim's drive and push yourself to hold off the Catcher Car as long as possible?
Join Kim on TeamKimSmilesForMiles whether you participate in the event in Sunrise or in Santa Clarita, California, or even right where you are via the Selfie Run. Sign up now and we'll see you on May 8!
