The Wings for Life World Run is a truly unique and global race for both runners and wheelchair participants. Meet up with your friends, download the Wings for Life World Run App and join all the other people running until the Virtual Catcher Car catches you of course. The race starts at exactly 13:00:00. The Virtual Catcher Car takes off 30 minutes after the start at 14 km/h and steadily increases its speed until the last athletes have been caught. 100% of all donations and the entry fees go directly into spinal cord research projects.

Starting at Celler Straße 63 in Braunschweig (near Fitnessland), the route leads northwest along Celler Straße on the pedestrian and cycling path, heading out of the city. After approximately 600 to 800 meters, a clearly marked turn-off directs you toward the Ölper See. Turning right here, the path continues straight to the lake.

Upon reaching the lake, the route follows a clockwise loop around the Ölper See. The path is mostly flat and consists of around 60 to 80 percent asphalt, with some sections of compact gravel. The loop itself is approximately 2 to 2.5 kilometers long and is well suited for steady running or relaxed jogging.

After completing the loop, the route returns along the same path back to Celler Straße and follows it back to the starting point at number 63. In total, the distance is about 3 kilometers, depending on the exact variation taken around the lake.
