The Wings for Life World Run is a truly unique and global race for both runners and wheelchair participants. Instead of a finish line, competitors race side by side to keep ahead of the Virtual Catcher Car. On 10. Mai 2026 Wings for Life World Run participants in Slovakia can also run together in Veľké Rovné. Meet up with your friends, download the Wings for Life World Run App and join all the other people running until the Virtual Catcher Car catches you of course. The race starts at exactly 13:00:00. The Virtual Catcher Car takes off 30 minutes after the start at 14 km/h and steadily increases its speed until the last athletes have been caught. 100% of all donations and the entry fees go directly into spinal cord research projects.

We start in Veľké Rovné (Ivor) and head towards Kotešová. From there, we continue in the direction of Žilina, where a beautiful route through scenic surroundings awaits us. After joining the cycling path, we continue towards the Hričov hydroelectric power plant, where we turn around and return along the same route. The course runs mostly on asphalt roads and cycle paths and is suitable for everyone – whether you want to push your limits or simply enjoy the run and the atmosphere. The location and event facilities are organized by the Drevicom team, which provides a shared basecamp for all runners.
