On May 14th 2011, our dear friend Anthony Murray Hoines sustained injuries that lead to a prognosis that can only be described as truly tragic. Today Anthony is a quadriplegic with a C5 spinal cord injury who is already showing remarkable bravery, courage and a strong desire to overcome this obstacle in his life. Anthony is an exceptional person who has played a very special role in most of our lives, whether as an instructor and mentor, a dear family member, a good friend, or just one of the most kind-hearted people you have ever met. Since this tragedy many of us have felt consumed with an overwhelming urgency to help Anthony, yet until now we have been left feeling incredibly helpless. You now have the chance to help! While Anthony may no longer live a stereotypically conventional lifestyle, the opportunities and possibilities that are available to ensure he lives a fulfilling, rewarding and enjoyable life are endless. And that’s exactly where your help is needed. Day to day primary care; basic essential adaptive equipment; as well as home adaptions already pose an enormous financial burden. However you will agree with me that Anthony deserves not only this basic necessary equipment, but anything and everything that is currently available that will make his journey a little easier. This project therefore aims to raise funds to improve Anthony’s life in any way possible. We are appealing to you to assist us in this endeavor in any way you are able to do so. Whether you personally, or as a group, company, or organization want to host a fundraising event to benefit the Anthony Murray Hoines Fund, make a once off donation or a recurring contribution, your assistance in our quest to support Anthony through his transition will be appreciated beyond belief. An account has been set up especially for this purpose. This account will be managed by three independent administrators and details of the funds raised and how they are put to use will be made openly available.
