The Wings for Life World Run is a truly unique and global race for both runners and wheelchair participants. Instead of a finish line, competitors race side by side to keep ahead of the Virtual Catcher Car. On 10 maggio 2026 Wings for Life World Run participants in Austria can also run together in Klagenfurt. Meet up with your friends, download the Wings for Life World Run App and join all the other people running until the Virtual Catcher Car catches you of course. The race starts at exactly 13:00:00. The Virtual Catcher Car takes off 30 minutes after the start at 14 km/h and steadily increases its speed until the last athletes have been caught. 100% of all donations and the entry fees go directly into spinal cord research projects.

The route starts at CF9020, Raiffeisenstraße 12H, 9020 Klagenfurt. At the Boulderama climbing gym, turn right onto Raiffeisenstraße. Continue along the street to the Sattnitzstüberl pub and turn right onto St. Ruprechter Straße. At the end of St. Ruprechter Straße, turn left onto Quellenstraße. This is the only slight incline of the route. After 700 meters on Quellenstraße, turn left onto Ingenieur-Heinisch-Straße. After approximately 200 meters, the road bends to the left. (Going straight ahead would lead to Ringstraße). Continue along this road, cross a small bridge, and then turn left onto Auenweg (a cycle path). Follow this path back to the Sattnitzstüberl and then back to the starting point at CF9020, passing the building on your right. Circle the building once and begin the next lap. One lap is approximately 5.2km long.
