The Wings for Life World Run is a truly unique and global race for both runners and wheelchair participants. Instead of a finish line, competitors race side by side to keep ahead of the Virtual Catcher Car. On 10 maggio 2026 Wings for Life World Run participants in United Kingdom can also run together in Nottingham. Meet up with your friends, download the Wings for Life World Run App and join all the other people running until the Virtual Catcher Car catches you of course. The race starts at exactly 12:00:00. The Virtual Catcher Car takes off 30 minutes after the start at 14 km/h and steadily increases its speed until the last athletes have been caught. 100% of all donations and the entry fees go directly into spinal cord research projects.

You set off from David Ross Sports Village, the buzz of runners all around, and before you know it you’re sweeping straight into the University of Nottingham’s stunning green campus. Tree-lined paths, wide open lawns, and that fresh park air that makes your legs feel lighter already.

The route winds through the leafy heart of Highfields Park, looping around the lake where the water glimmers, geese cheer you on (loudly), and spectators line the paths with big smiles and bigger encouragement. You glide past the iconic Trent Building, looking every bit as grand as your mid-run determination, before heading back through more of campus’s postcard-perfect scenery.

Just when you need it most, Red Bull refreshment stations pop up like little gifts from the running gods 💧🍌perfectly placed to refuel, boost and get you back into your rhythm.

It’s a run that feels less like a race and more of and adventure of one of the most beautiful campuses in the UK. Green views, good vibes, and that unbeatable finish back at David Ross Sports Village.
