The Wings for Life World Run is a truly unique and global race for both runners and wheelchair participants. Instead of a finish line, competitors race side by side to keep ahead of the Virtual Catcher Car. Now on 2026. gada 10. maijs Wings for Life World Run participants in Austria can also run together in Altenberg bei Linz. Meet up with your friends, download the Wings for Life World Run App and join all the other people running until the Virtual Catcher Car catches you of course. The race starts at exactly 13:00:00. The Virtual Catcher Car takes off 30 minutes after the start at 14 km/h and steadily increases its speed until the last athletes have been caught. 100% of all donations and the entry fees go directly into spinal cord research projects.

The central venue with start and refreshment is the Altenberg fire station, a signposted route leads from the roundabout on the sidewalk to Donach, at the Niederwinkl junction turn left again into Birkenweg and over the Eichenweg to Niederwinkl (Stöttner) - at the next junction turn left to Willersdorf - straight past the elevated tank into the Landlgrund - at the Gasthaus Raml turn left on the pavement, via Linzer Straße in the direction of the town centre and back to the FF Haus. Loop has 5.15km and 75 meters of elevation gain (asphalt and gravel) Further alternative routes will be posted in the FF House. e.g. 1km long loop through the local area.
