The Wings for Life World Run is a truly unique and global race for both runners and wheelchair participants. Instead of a finish line, competitors race side by side to keep ahead of the Virtual Catcher Car. Now on 10. mája 2026 Wings for Life World Run participants in Austria can also run together in Gmunden. Meet up with your friends, download the Wings for Life World Run App and join all the other people running until the Virtual Catcher Car catches you of course. The race starts at exactly 13:00:00. The Virtual Catcher Car takes off 30 minutes after the start at 14 km/h and steadily increases its speed until the last athletes have been caught. 100% of all donations and the entry fees go directly into spinal cord research projects.

We’ll be running along the Esplanade with a stunning view of Lake Traunsee and the unique mountain scenery, heading toward Altmünster and the "Kerngesund am See" center — and back again, or even further if you’re up for it. 😊

The team from "Kerngesund am See" will prepare a refreshment station for you, where you can recharge. Both refreshment stations along Lake Traunsee warmly welcome all motivated runners. 🫶

At our station, you’ll find water, isotonic drinks, and snacks. The route is paved, almost completely flat, and perfect for logging lots of kilometers. 🤩
