The Wings for Life World Run is a truly unique and global race for both runners and wheelchair participants. Instead of a finish line, competitors race side by side to keep ahead of the Virtual Catcher Car. On 10. mája 2026 Wings for Life World Run participants in Germany can also run together in Hannover. Meet up with your friends, download the Wings for Life World Run App and join all the other people running until the Virtual Catcher Car catches you of course. The race starts at exactly 13:00:00. The Virtual Catcher Car takes off 30 minutes after the start at 14 km/h and steadily increases its speed until the last athletes have been caught. 100% of all donations and the entry fees go directly into spinal cord research projects.

The course is a 3-km loop in the Eilenriede. The paths are not paved, but they are very firm and well-compacted, making them suitable for pushing wheelchairs. No matter how you choose to move — being part of it is what counts! Four-legged friends and strollers are very welcome. Participation with handbikes or racing wheelchairs is (unfortunately) not permitted. The paths will not be blocked off for the run, so please be respectful of other visitors who may be enjoying time in the forest. Please bring your own refreshments and snacks. There are also two nearby public restrooms, including wheelchair-accessible facilities.

Schedule: 12:30 pm – Meeting point between the Wakitu playground and the mini-golf course in the Eilenriede 12:45 pm – Group warm-up 1:00 pm – Run start 1:30 pm – Catcher Car start (virtual via the app) Run as long as you can until the Catcher Car catches you!

After you’ve been caught, you’re warmly invited to stay around the meeting point and cheer on the runners who are still out on the course.
