The Wings for Life World Run is a truly unique and global race for both runners and wheelchair participants. Instead of a finish line, competitors race side by side to keep ahead of the Virtual Catcher Car. On 10. maj 2026 Wings for Life World Run participants in Spain can also run together in Llanes. Meet up with your friends, download the Wings for Life World Run App and join all the other people running until the Virtual Catcher Car catches you of course. The race starts at exactly 13:00:00. The Virtual Catcher Car takes off 30 minutes after the start at 14 km/h and steadily increases its speed until the last athletes have been caught. 100% of all donations and the entry fees go directly into spinal cord research projects.

We invite you to enjoy a unique running experience in one of the most beautiful coastal towns in northern Spain. Our race will start and finish at the Town Hall Square in Llanes, right in the heart of the village, and will follow a 2 km circular route.

Along the course, participants will be surrounded by the charm of Llanes: its historic streets, the picturesque harbor, breathtaking views of the Cantabrian Sea, and the stunning backdrop of the Asturian mountains. A perfect blend of sea, town, and nature that makes every step unforgettable.

This will be an open and inclusive event, designed for both runners and wheelchair users, so everyone can take part in the experience. Each participant can run or roll as far as they wish… until they are caught by the virtual catcher car through the app. You set your pace, you define your challenge.

No matter the distance, every step counts. 100% of the funds raised will go towards research to find a cure for spinal cord injuries. Your participation truly makes a difference.
