EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE RUN IN LJUBLJANA

We are delighted that you'll be joining us on Sunday, May 5, 2024, at the Wings for Life World Run presented by I Feel Slovenia in Ljubljana. To ensure that everything runs smoothly, please check the information below:

RACE NUMBER PICK-UP

Please pick-up your race number at the Congress square in Ljubljana at the marked entrance. There will be a special entrance for wheelchair users. We suggest that you pick up the starting numbers before Sunday.

Start number pick-up timeline:

  • Friday, 3 May, 3pm-7pm
  • Saturday, 4 May, 10am-7pm
  • Sunday, 5 May, 8am-12am

MAIN VENUE

The main venue of the Wings for Life World Run presented by I Feel Slovenia will be the Congress Square in Ljubljana, featuring exhibition of sports equipment, pre-run warm-up, and live-streaming of the global Run on big screens.

ARRIVAL

The start will be at the Congress Square in Ljubljana, so please use public transport – either bus (numbers 1, 19L, 2, 20Z, 3G, 6, 6B) or train. If you still decide to come by car, please use the parking garage at the congress Square, or parking lot near Križanke. Please be aware that there will be the following road closure.

ROAD CLOSURE

Road closure on Sunday, 5 May 2024, from 1pm to 3 pm:  Slovenska cesta, Dunajska cesta, Linhartova cesta, Pokopališka ulica, Šmartinska cesta (untill Kajuhova ulica), Zaloška cesta (until Zadobrovška cesta) and Erjavčeva cesta from 6am till 6pm.

Road closure on Sunday, 5 May 2024, outside Ljubljana municipality: on the race track Ljubljana – Šentjakob – Domžale – Radomlje – Kamnik – Cerklje – Vodice – Smlednik – Vikrče – Ljubljana temporary 60-minute closures of individual road sections.

TRACK

The start will be at the Congress Square in Ljubljana, and then the track will continue past Šmartinski park towards Zaloška cesta, Domžale and Kamnik. Please find a detailed description here.

PROGRAM AND SCHEDULE

SUNDAY, 5 MAY 2024

  • 8.00am – 6.00pm: Event area open
  • 8.00am – 12.00am: Run number pick-up @ Congress square
  • 12.45pm – 12.55pm: Warm-up
  • 1.00pm: Start
  • 1.30pm: Catcher Car start
  • 5.45pm: Catcher Car passes the last runner (approx.)

REFRESHMENT STATIONS

Every 5 km there will a refreshment station with food and drinks.

RETURN TO THE START

Once the Catcher Car catches you, your run is over, and it's time to celebrate! It's more fun to celebrate together, that's why every 5 km there will be buses and vans waiting for you to take you back to the start.

RESULTS

The race number includes a chip which is activated once you pass the Catcher Car at the start. When the Catcher Car later overtakes you, the chip records your results.

Current (interim) results are published on our website on an ongoing basis. Certificates with a national and international ranking will be offered 24 hours after the run by email with a download link.
