The Wings for Life World Run is a truly unique and global race for both runners and wheelchair participants. Instead of a finish line, competitors race side by side to keep ahead of the Virtual Catcher Car. On 10 mai 2026 Wings for Life World Run participants in Austria can also run together in Hallein. Meet up with your friends, download the Wings for Life World Run App and join all the other people running until the Virtual Catcher Car catches you of course. The race starts at exactly 13:00:00. The Virtual Catcher Car takes off 30 minutes after the start at 14 km/h and steadily increases its speed until the last athletes have been caught. 100% of all donations and the entry fees go directly into spinal cord research projects.

! Important Information About the Course ! The official venue for the race is the 400-meter track at the Rif Sports Center. However, participants may extend the course on their own and include the area surrounding the sports center as well as the Salzach River in Rif in their run. Participants leave the sports center at their own risk.

The group start will take place on the track. Before that, we’ll participate together in the official Wings for Life warm-up program to get in the right mindset and start the run with positive energy.

The facility features music as well as a refreshment station with snacks, drinks, and places to rest. A great atmosphere and regular motivation are guaranteed. Restrooms and showers are also available. The track also offers a beautiful view of the Untersberg, and the sports center’s location is ideal, with attractive and easily accessible surroundings.
