The Wings for Life World Run is a truly unique and global race for both runners and wheelchair participants. Instead of a finish line, competitors race side by side to keep ahead of the Virtual Catcher Car. On 10. svibnja 2026. Wings for Life World Run participants in Italy can also run together in Roma. Meet up with your friends, download the Wings for Life World Run App and join all the other people running until the Virtual Catcher Car catches you of course. The race starts at exactly 13:00:00. The Virtual Catcher Car takes off 30 minutes after the start at 14 km/h and steadily increases its speed until the last athletes have been caught. 100% of all donations and the entry fees go directly into spinal cord research projects.

Wings for Life World Run – App Run Rome: A Sunday of Solidarity and Celebration! IMPORTANT: New Location & Event Format

This year, the Wings for Life World Run in Rome is doubling the excitement with a brand-new look! On a very special Sunday for the Capital, we have decided to transform our run into a massive moment of gathering and celebration.

To avoid the busiest crowds in the city and provide you with an unforgettable post-race experience, we are moving the meeting point from Villa Borghese to the heart of Rome: Jo&Joe Hostel.

Where and When Meeting & Start Point: Jo&Joe Rome – Via delle Quattro Fontane, 113. Meeting time: 12:00 (Midday) Start Time: Sunday, May 10th, at 1:00 PM (global simultaneous start).

The Route: A social run through the city center guided by our staff.

A Special Run: The Spirit of the Event Given the overlap with other major sporting events and the high number of tourists expected in the city, we have decided to prioritize community over competition.

Run with the Staff: Our pacers will lead a group along a route of approximately 5 km. It’s the perfect opportunity to run together, united for one single goal: finding a cure for spinal cord injury.

Solidarity over Records: Due to the expected pedestrian traffic, it may be challenging to aim for a personal best. We invite everyone to experience a different kind of Sunday dedicated to solidarity. Remember: you can start from anywhere with the App, but we’re waiting for you to do it with us!

Note on Accessibility We want the joy of this day to be for everyone, but transparency is key: the 5 km route chosen by the staff features several architectural barriers that, unfortunately, make it unsuitable for wheelchairs.

However, we don't want you to miss out on the fun! We warmly invite our friends in wheelchairs to join us at the start, enjoy a self-guided stroll through the beautiful nearby Rione Monti district, and meet us back at Jo&Joe for the final celebrations. The courtyard is ready to welcome you with open arms!

After Run Party at Jo&Joe: Music and Joy The finish line is just the beginning of the fun! After the run, we will gather in the magnificent courtyard of Jo&Joe Hostel (a stunning former monastery).
