The Wings for Life World Run is a truly unique and global race for both runners and wheelchair participants. Instead of a finish line, competitors race side by side to keep ahead of the Virtual Catcher Car. On 10 de maio de 2026 Wings for Life World Run participants in Belgium can also run together in Gent. Meet up with your friends, download the Wings for Life World Run App and join all the other people running until the Virtual Catcher Car catches you of course. The race starts at exactly 13:00:00. The Virtual Catcher Car takes off 30 minutes after the start at 14 km/h and steadily increases its speed until the last athletes have been caught. 100% of all donations and the entry fees go directly into spinal cord research projects.

Join the Wings for Life World Run on a scenic 5 km loop around the iconic Watersportbaan in Gent! This flat, paved route is perfect for runners of all levels.

The loop starts and finishes on the waterfront (by the intersection from Campinglaan). From here, you’ll follow the path clockwise around the Watersportbaan, keeping the water on your right as you make your way around the full circuit. The path is wide and shared with cyclists and walkers, so there’s plenty of space to enjoy your run.

Parking is available all along the watersportbaan with the park and ride Watersportbaan parking.
