The Wings for Life World Run is a truly unique and global race for both runners and wheelchair participants. Instead of a finish line, competitors race side by side to keep ahead of the Virtual Catcher Car. On May 10, 2026 Wings for Life World Run participants in Austria can also run together in Kobenz. Meet up with your friends, download the Wings for Life World Run App and join all the other people running until the Virtual Catcher Car catches you of course. The race starts at exactly 1:00:00 PM. The Virtual Catcher Car takes off 30 minutes after the start at 14 km/h and steadily increases its speed until the last athletes have been caught. 100% of all donations and the entry fees go directly into spinal cord research projects.

The route follows a scenic, 3km circular path through the beautiful countryside of Kobenz. The start and finish are at the fire station of the Kobenz Volunteer Fire Department. From the church, the route leads towards Rassnitz, over the bridge over the Kobenzbach stream, and continues along Marktstraße to the "Au" junction. There, runners turn left towards "Freizeitanlage Zechner." At the end of "Freizeitanlage Zechner," the route turns left again, passes under the S36 overpass, and follows Bachweg back to the intersection with Marktstraße. Runners then turn right towards the fire station and continue to "Gasthaus Rainer." Here, the route turns left onto the market square, crosses it, and then turns left again onto Bachweg. Shortly after, runners cross the bridge over the Kobenzbach stream and continue straight ahead into the next loop.
