The Wings for Life World Run is a truly unique and global race for both runners and wheelchair participants. Instead of a finish line, competitors race side by side to keep ahead of the Virtual Catcher Car. On May 10, 2026 Wings for Life World Run participants in Germany can also run together in Ludwigsburg. Meet up with your friends, download the Wings for Life World Run App and join all the other people running until the Virtual Catcher Car catches you of course. The race starts at exactly 1:00:00 PM. The Virtual Catcher Car takes off 30 minutes after the start at 14 km/h and steadily increases its speed until the last athletes have been caught. 100% of all donations and the entry fees go directly into spinal cord research projects.

Our Route: From the Tartan Track to the Hoheneck Fields

Our joint App Run kicks off right at the heart of the Ludwigsburg University of Education: the sports grounds on Reuteallee. We offer maximum flexibility so that everyone can make the most of their run for a good cause before the virtual Catcher Car begins its pursuit.

The Core: Campus Lap Hunting For those looking to maintain a precise pace or seeking the motivation of the group, the 400-meter tartan track is at your disposal. This is the perfect place to clock up flat, consistent kilometers.

The Classic Loop: Around Favorite Park Starting from the sports grounds, the path leads directly towards the Favorite Nature and Wildlife Park. You can circumnavigate the park on predominantly paved paths. This route will challenge you with gentle, steady inclines. A full loop is approximately 3.5 to 4 kilometers, making it ideal for anyone looking for a varied yet controlled circuit.

For the Endurance Seekers: The Hoheneck Loop If your goal is to stay ahead of the Catcher Car for as long as possible, you can extend your route toward the Hoheneck fields. Here, the scenery gets even greener as we run along a mix of asphalt and firm gravel paths through the open countryside. The profile becomes a bit more demanding and undulating, but rewards you with a wide, scenic view across the Neckar Valley towards Marbach.
