The Wings for Life World Run is a truly unique and global race for both runners and wheelchair participants. Instead of a finish line, competitors race side by side to keep ahead of the Virtual Catcher Car. On May 10, 2026 Wings for Life World Run participants in Switzerland can also run together in St. Moritz. Meet up with your friends, download the Wings for Life World Run App and join all the other people running until the Virtual Catcher Car catches you of course. The race starts at exactly 1:00:00 PM. The Virtual Catcher Car takes off 30 minutes after the start at 14 km/h and steadily increases its speed until the last athletes have been caught. 100% of all donations and the entry fees go directly into spinal cord research projects.
Track
The loop around St. Moritzersee is about 4.5 km long and runs almost completely flat along a well-developed lakeside path. Starting at the athletics track in St. Moritz-Bad, the route first follows the southern shore with views across the lake and the surrounding Engadin mountains. It then continues along the quieter eastern side, partly through short forest sections. On the forest side, the path is not asphalted but a natural gravel trail. Along the northern shore you get a nice view of the houses and hotels of St. Moritz. The path then follows the western side of the lake back to St. Moritz-Bad, where the loop closes again near the sports centre. Because of its length, flat profile, and altitude of around 1,800 m, the route is popular with both walkers and runners.
