I'm Sarah! I am a C3 incomplete Quadriplegic ASIA D. On October 25th, 2019, I fell off a friend's shoulders at a concert in London and was instantly paralyzed from the neck down. I was rushed to hospital and now have fixation from C4 to T4 and they replaced my C7 vertebrae with a cage. I wiggled my toe on day 12, I took my first assisted steps at a month, took 5 wobbly unassisted steps at two months. I spent 3.5 months in hospital before flying back home, to Australia. I have continued my rehabilitation ever since - it has been 1.5 years. I am SO grateful to say that I can now walk confidently and am currently learning to run!! I have always pushed the boundaries and I'm here to do it again. I am aiming for 5km. I am walk/running for myself, for my SCI friends, and for everyone who has been affected by SCI. We're survivors!
