The Wings for Life World Run is a truly unique and global race for both runners and wheelchair participants. Instead of a finish line, competitors race side by side to keep ahead of the Virtual Catcher Car. Now on 10 мая 2026 г. Wings for Life World Run participants in Germany can also run together in Düsseldorf. Meet up with your friends, download the Wings for Life World Run App and join all the other people running until the Virtual Catcher Car catches you of course. The race starts at exactly 13:00:00. The Virtual Catcher Car takes off 30 minutes after the start at 14 km/h and steadily increases its speed until the last athletes have been caught. 100% of all donations and the entry fees go directly into spinal cord research projects.

I am happy to organize for the third year in a row another team at Unterbacher See in 2025. The WFL Run is a unique opportunity for us runners to combine our hobby with a good cause. Three years ago, we had to experience in our own family how an unexpected accident can quickly turn your life and the life of your beloved one’s upside down. We are fortunate people when we can do extraordinary and, above all, everyday things wherever and whenever we want. Therefore, let us support people who are not able to do this and perhaps give them a long-term chance of healing through our donation. All entry fees and donations go 100% into spinal cord research and help cure paraplegia.

We run around Unterbacher See (approx. 5.7 km). The meeting point, start and end of the running course is on the meadow in front of the "Südstrand Unterbacher See". The location is ideal, also for those traveling with children. Public toilets are available. There are sufficient parking spaces at "Strandbad Süd" and "Strandbad Nord" car parks.
