The Wings for Life World Run is a truly unique and global race for both runners and wheelchair participants. Instead of a finish line, competitors race side by side to keep ahead of the Virtual Catcher Car. On 10 мая 2026 г. Wings for Life World Run participants in Austria can also run together in Leoben. Meet up with your friends, download the Wings for Life World Run App and join all the other people running until the Virtual Catcher Car catches you of course. The race starts at exactly 13:00:00. The Virtual Catcher Car takes off 30 minutes after the start at 14 km/h and steadily increases its speed until the last athletes have been caught. 100% of all donations and the entry fees go directly into spinal cord research projects.

Just like in the last two years, the hub of our event will be the study centre of the Montanuniversität Leoben. From here, we head upstream on the Stadtkai to the "Wurstsemmel"/pedestrian bridge. We cross this bridge and run downstream along the fastest section of the course (the USI MILE). Once we arrive in Judendorf, we continue on a short "trail*" section to the Winkelfeldbrücke bridge, where we turn right towards the Asia Spa. Past the Spa and the Ice Rink, we return to the Stadtkai, which leads us back to the study centre. The whole route is therefore almost exactly 4.4 kilometres! *For wheelchair users, we offer an alternative route that bypasses the short trail section.
