RACE NUMBER PICK-UP
Please pick-up your race number at the Republic Square in Ljubljana at the marked entrance. There will be a special entrance for wheelchair users. We suggest that you pick up the starting numbers before Sunday.
Start number pick-up timeline:
- Thursday, 7 May, 1.00 pm – 7.00 pm
- Friday, 8 May, 1.00 pm – 7.00 pm
- Saturday, 9 May, 10.00 am –7.00 pm
- Sunday, 10 May, 8.00 am – 11.00 am
Companies can pick up the race bibs on Thursday and Friday.
MAIN VENUE
The main venue of the Wings for Life World Run presented by I Feel Slovenia will be the Congress Square in Ljubljana, featuring exhibition of sports equipment, pre-run warm-up, and live-streaming of the global Run on big screens.
ARRIVAL
The start will be at the Congress Square in Ljubljana, so please use public transport – either bus or train. If you still decide to come by car, please use the parking garage at the congress Square, or parking lot near Križanke. Please be aware that there will be the following road closure.
ROAD CLOSURE
On the race route Ljubljana - Šentjakob - Domžale - Radomlje - Kamnik - Komenda - Cerklje na Gorenjskem - Vodice - Ljubljana, there will be occasional complete closures of individual sections for up to 60 minutes.
TRACK
In previous years, the route immediately led runners out of Ljubljana towards Domžale and Kamnik. This year, it will first make a loop through Ljubljana, heading towards Bežigrad, Šiška, around Rožnik to Rožna dolina, and then back towards the city center. Between the 11th and 12th kilometers, it will pass close to the starting area on Aškerčeva Street. This is great news for those who set a personal goal of running between 10 and 15 kilometers, as they make up the majority of participants. They will be able to return to the starting area by foot, where the program will be continuously running and the race will be broadcast live on big screens, without having to wait for transportation.
The route will then take runners from Ljubljana through Domžale (30 km), Šmarca (35 km), and to Kamnik, where this year the 40th kilometer will be located. The marathon distance of 42 kilometers will be reached near Gostilna pri Slavki in Podgorje, and from there, the route will take the most determined runners through Komenda, Lahovče, and towards Vodice. The route’s lowest point will be at the underpass beneath the highway at Podgorica-Sneberje (275 m), and the highest point will be in Kamnik (just over 386 m).

PROGRAM AND SCHEDULE
SUNDAY, 10 MAY 2026
- 8.00am – 6.00pm: Event area open
- 8.00am – 11.00pm: Run number pick-up @ Republic square
- 12.45pm – 12.55pm: Warm-up
- 1.00pm: Start
- 1.30pm: Catcher Car start
- 5.45pm: Catcher Car passes the last runner (approx.)
REFRESHMENT STATIONS
Around every 5 km there will a refreshment station with food and drinks.
RETURN TO THE START
Once the Catcher Car catches you, your run is over, and it’s time to celebrate! It’s more fun to celebrate together, that’s why every 5 km there will be buses and vans waiting for you to take you back to the start. Part of the route is circular this year, so if you finish near the start, we recommend taking a walk back to the starting point.
RESULTS
The race number includes a chip which is activated once you pass the Catcher Car at the start. When the Catcher Car later overtakes you, the chip records your results.
Current (interim) results are published on our website on an ongoing basis. Certificates with a national and international ranking will be offered 24 hours after the run by email with a download link.
