The Wings for Life World Run is a truly unique and global race for both runners and wheelchair participants. Instead of a finish line, competitors race side by side to keep ahead of the Virtual Catcher Car. Now on 10 mei 2026 Wings for Life World Run participants in Austria can also run together in Neumarkt am Wallersee. Meet up with your friends, download the Wings for Life World Run App and join all the other people running until the Virtual Catcher Car catches you of course. The race starts at exactly 13:00:00. The Virtual Catcher Car takes off 30 minutes after the start at 14 km/h and steadily increases its speed until the last athletes have been caught. 100% of all donations and the entry fees go directly into spinal cord research projects.

We start at the harbor of Neumarkt am Wallersee. From here, everyone can choose their own route. Example 1: Along the shore heading west. After about 1.5 km at the end of the lakeside path, turn right up to the "Wierer" (Wierer). From there, with a wonderful view of Lake Wallersee, continue into the Wenger Moor nature reserve. From here, you can follow the Wenger Moor loop counterclockwise, turning right into the forest, left after the bridge, and back again. The approximately 2.5 km loop can be repeated or you can walk back to the harbor. It is also possible to continue towards Seekirchen from here. Example 2: Looping along the shallow shore in the eastern bay.
